Perkins Artworks is George and Denise Perkins, two lifetime artists who were brought together by the magic of the internet.
A little about the two of them.
George has always had a love of art and as a child art was his favorite subject in school. In 1972 he started working in the sign painting trade, first part time and later working at a couple of commercial sign shops. He later opened his own sign shop and has been self employed since 1982. Along the way he also started pinstriping as he has been a gear head since his early teens. He painted and lettered hundreds of race cars during the eighties. After the advent of the computer driven sign machines and the demand for hand lettering fell way off, he started focusing on pinstriping. He worked for many car dealers and body shops and soon started striping the big 18 wheelers. These days he has scaled back the work load. He still does some body shop work and works about twenty motorcycle events every year.
Denise, like George, has had a life long love for art. Her interests have been wide ranging. She has worked in the field of decorative painting, hemp jewelry making and murals. After she and George were married, she also learned pinstriping and for a number of years the two of them worked side by side. These days she spends her time doing small wooden art signs that she and George sell here and on Etsy, be sure and check out their stores
